Hosted by prominent trade analyst Komal Nahta, the show will cater exclusively to international audiences
Taking storytelling beyond boundaries, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has launched Starry Nights, its new celebrity chat show, exclusively for international territories. Komal Nahta, the host of the show, will be in conversation with Bollywood celebrities, egging them on to reveal their fun side. Produced in-house, Starry Nights premiered on ZEE’s international channels in the first week of January 2017.
Amit Goenka, CEO (international broadcast business), ZEEL said, “With presence in 171 countries and content in nine foreign languages, ZEE has emerged as a world-scale player. Bollywood’s popularity is growing across continents. With Starry Nights, it will be the first time that a celeb chat show of this stature has been produced. Featuring the best of Bollywood, the show aims to reach over 332 million viewers across all international territories.”
“I was thrilled at the offer to host Starry Nights as it was outside my comfort zone. All these years, I have spoken of box-office collections but this show has given me an opportunity to be associated with the glamour instead of the grind,” Nahta said.
Talking about the show, Rajeev Kheror, president (content and strategy, international business), ZEEL said, “Starry Nights is about the journey of our favourite film celebrities. The 40-episode series will feature the best of the industry, including Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, and Kangana Ranaut. While the show has been shot in English, to reach audiences across the globe, it will be dubbed or subtitled in languages such as German, Spanish, and Arabic.”
The show has been conceptualised and produced by Fatema Contractor, programming head, ZEE International.
