For Mac Users
Efficient Timeline Organization: To simplify complex edits, Final Cut Pro for Mac now introduces automatic timeline scrolling, ensuring clips remain in view under the playhead during playback. Editors can dynamically adjust their timeline view using the Zoom tool or keyboard shortcuts.
Role-Based Differentiation: Creators can easily differentiate clips by assigned role, enhancing the viewing experience with distinct video and audio role colors.
Streamlined Editing: Editors can efficiently clean up complex sections of the timeline and fine-tune their edits by combining overlapping connected clips into a single connected storyline. Combining connected clips with existing storylines is also made easier.
Optimization for Apple Silicon: Exporting multiple projects simultaneously is now faster than ever, thanks to automatic video segment processing on available media engines. Additionally, the Object Tracker benefits from an all-new machine learning model, particularly improving results when analyzing faces and objects on Mac computers with Apple silicon.
For iPad Users
New Voiceover Capabilities: Final Cut Pro for iPad introduces convenient voiceover recording, allowing creators to record narration and live audio directly in the timeline using built-in or external microphones. It offers a countdown feature for precise voiceover timing.
Workflow Enhancements: Users can activate or deactivate stabilization in pro camera mode for smoother or action-focused footage. Direct footage ingestion into a project expedites the editing process. Further efficiency is achieved through the consolidation of connected clips or storylines into a single connected storyline using the new group command.
Keyboard Shortcuts: Voiceover and clip grouping receive new keyboard shortcuts to expedite the editing process. A range of color-grading presets and new titles and generators enhance video finishing.
Enhanced Compatibility: Final Cut Pro for iPad supports the import of projects from iMovie for iOS and allows users to export projects to Mac for advanced editing options, including color correction and third-party content integration.
