Vizrt Releases Viz Engine 5.1 With Cutting-Edge Enhancements

Leading the way in real-time graphics and live production solutions for content creators, Vizrt has launched Viz Engine 5.1, featuring significant advancements in live graphics workflows. This update introduces "Reality Connect" powered by Viz AI, a game-changing AI-driven 3D talent immersion tool that revolutionizes virtual studio experiences by enabling realistic shadow casting and reflections within XR sets.

Reality Connect, utilizing advanced AI algorithms, resolves the challenge of talent appearing disconnected in virtual studios. It accomplishes this by anchoring talent within the virtual studio environment through virtual 3D models continuously updated using Vizrt’s AI pose estimation, operating on the same GPU as live video feeds used for keying. A notable feature is that Reality Connect seamlessly integrates data from motion capture (Mocap) systems without the need for additional hardware.

Viz Engine 5.1 also reinvents the concept of Virtual Windows, a technology introduced by Vizrt in 2011, which expanded the utility of video walls. This update enhances Virtual Windows, considering the increased sensitivity of modern renderers to screen resolutions. It supports intricate video wall configurations, such as curved surfaces and floors, offering unmatched flexibility.

Additionally, Vizrt addresses the need for previews when working with Extended Reality (XR) sets. Partnering with ROE Visual, Vizrt combines Viz Engine 5 and GhostFrame™ to provide a more immersive experience for talent. GhostFrame allows up to four content feeds on an LED screen, individually captured by cameras. This enables presenters and production crews to select which feeds are visible while presenting, enhancing interaction with AR objects or video walls.

Furthermore, Viz Engine 5.1 introduces user-defined aspect-ratio support for video walls as an extension of Adaptive Graphics. This intelligent adaptation ensures a consistent look and unified brand identity across various platforms and displays.

Viz Engine 5.1’s integration with Unreal Engine 5.0 and 5.1 enhances performance, workflow, controllability, and asset management, strengthening the collaboration between Vizrt and Unreal Engine. In addition to the highlighted features, the update includes improvements to the Viz Engine Renderer, the addition of Clip Player Pro for Flexible Access customers, support for nearly 100 Data Connectors, and multiple Video I/O and security enhancements.
