In a significant development, Vizrt, the industry leader in real-time graphics, live production, and media asset management (MAM) solutions for content creators, has announced the successful completion of the AWS FTR process for Viz One. This achievement marks a pivotal milestone, assuring broadcasters of the platform’s seamless transition to the cloud.
The AWS FTR (Full Training and Readiness) program is designed to assist AWS Partners in establishing robust architectural practices, eliminating potential risks, and showcasing best practices in security, reliability, and operational excellence as defined by the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Vizrt’s accomplishment in this program ensures that its software operates seamlessly on AWS cloud platforms, ultimately enhancing the user experience for customers.
The successful completion of the FTR process for Viz One underscores the close partnership between Vizrt and AWS. This comes on the heels of last year’s successful FTR completion for the Vizrt Live Production Solution and Vizrt’s recent acceptance into the prestigious AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerate Program.
The move to the cloud with Viz One simplifies the processes of content ingestion, management, editing, and delivery, offering broadcasters scalability, flexibility, and redundancy that traditional on-premises solutions cannot match. As a result, major broadcasters are benefitting from transitioning their MAM systems to the cloud. For instance, the New Zealand public broadcaster TVNZ migrated its entire Viz One archive to replace its aging tape archive. Additionally, the PGA TOUR successfully moved its extensive Viz One system, housing over 18 petabytes of historical and current content spanning more than a century, to AWS.
Jochen Bergdolt, Head of Vizrt’s MAM Business Unit, commented on this achievement, stating, “Achieving this FTR status demonstrates Vizrt’s commitment to the cloud and assures Viz One customers that they can safely migrate invaluable archives and workflows to AWS, as TVNZ and PGA TOUR have done. Combined with previous FTR completions and joining the prestigious ISV Accelerate Program, content creators and broadcasters can have full cloud confidence across Vizrt’s live production and MAM tools, knowing that they meet AWS’s strict software and security standards – ensuring better success for our customers and end users, reaching our purpose of more stories, better told.”
