Macnica Technology will showcase its VIPA product line and offer live demos of its SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS network media switching solutions, along with NAB Show 2019 marks the introduction of Macnica’s VIPA 25 PCI Express (PCIe) card. The VIPA 25 is an ST 2110 accelerated network interface card that offloads the network processing and timing workload from the CPU.
It provides a straightforward API that includes NMOS IS-04/05 and GStreamer filters (source and sync) — making it ready for developers to start creating next-generation, IP-networked broadcast applications on open standards. An optional 12G-SDI daughter-card adds SDI support with seamless API access alongside ST 2110.
Macnica will also show its 10GbE card - the VIPA 10, and some of the new capabilities of its software development kit (SDK) with the VIPA 10 card. The VoIP company will participate in the IP Showcase to exhibit the interoperability of its NMOS solutions.
“We’re building an accessible ST 2110 platform that will be at the heart of a new wave of products in the broadcast and professional video industries,” said Andrew Starks, director - Product Management, Macnica. “The VIPA 25 will be ideal for broadcast equipment manufacturers, who need the kind of reliability they’ve come to expect from SDI in a standards-compliant ST 2110 solution.”
