Cross screen tv app applicaster pools in $10.5m funding

Cross-screen TV apps provider Applicaster recently announced a series B funding round led by Pitango Venture Capital, of $10.5 million. “Applicaster has championed the app-driven TV transformation for several years now, and we’re thrilled to see the take-up over the past 12 months,” said Jonathan Laor, Applicaster’s CEO. The apps provider has launched over 100 applications for over 40 customers around the world, also providing tools for broadcasters and rights strategies for pay-TV channels, cable companies and YouTube stars. Isaac Hillel, managing partner at Pitango Venture Capital, said: “The continuous evolution in the TV industry and mobile viewing habits present an immense growth potential for us.”
