In November 2014, the Rohde & Schwarz Broadcasting Division was renamed Broadcast and Media Division. The next logical step was the complete integration of the Rohde & Schwarz DVS GmbH subsidiary into the parent company, which it did recently. “We have had a common vision for a long time. Now we have merged perfectly to continue on our successful path,” emphasized Juergen Nies, Head of the Division, Rohde & Schwarz DVS GmbH.
One of the advantages afforded by the integration is direct access to a wide-ranging global service and sales network as well as production facilities of its own in Europe.
Rohde & Schwarz is known for regularly rolling out technologies such as high dynamic range (HDR) and the 4K standard including the R&S Clipster mastering station, which is considered a benchmark for the mastering of feature films. The R&S Venice ingest and playout broadcast solution proved itself at the Berlin International Film Festival as a key component in the workflow where it digitized the diverse material and prepared it for post-processing. Additionally, audio/video head-end solutions, transmitters and T&M equipment are also part of the Rohde & Schwarz broadcast and media product portfolio.
