Planetcast Media Services Ltd (formerly Essel Shyam Communication limited) showcased its OTT platform at BroadcastAsia 2016 at Singapore. Talking about this offering, Sanjay Duda, chief marketing officer, Planetcast said, “The launch of our OTT platform is in tandem with our company’s future vision. It has been specially designed to cater to the needs of our existing customers and will help them add a new dimension to their service offering.”
OTT video is amongst the fastest growing services on digital platforms, as organizations – from traditional media to new-age media companies to telcos – are betting that online video consumption will go mainstream. There is a growing demand for flexibility in terms of type, timing and place of content consumption. On the supply side, there are a multitude of OTT video services who cater to different consumer preferences while declining prices of smartphones and improving mobile broadband infrastructure are removing roadblocks for OTT video consumption.
