Releases first dolby atmos blu-ray in India | Dolby Laboratories and Shemaroo Entertainment last month announced that Mary Kom is the first movie in India to launch on Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos sound track.
The movie, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a chronicle to the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom. “Every punch that Mary threw was heard and felt in Dolby Atmos in the cinema. The power of sound to transport you right into the middle of the ring will now be available to home theatre enthusiasts who will be able to experience Dolby Atmos movies the way they were meant to be heard, right in their living rooms,” said Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, which emerged as the first Indian studio to support Dolby Atmos on Bluray Disc offerings.
With Dolby Atmos, sound comes alive from all directions, including overhead, to fill the home theatre with astonishing clarity, power, detail, and depth. The sound tracks for home theatre can also be played on traditional home entertainment playback systems. “Dolby Atmos, one of the most significant advancement in home theatre audio, will transport consumers deeper into the story with amazing clarity,” said Pankaj Kedia, senior regional director, Dolby Laboratories.
